Once you are able to activate the square boosters, they can clear gems in a square proximity. Why a square? Well once you complete or match more than four gems successfully, a booster will be created. Square Booster - When you are able to clear more than four of the same gems, you can create the square booster. For example, if you moved a gem to the left in order to complete a set of gems lined vertically, then the booster will automatically be converted in to a vertical booster. The direction in which it becomes a horizontal/vertical booster will depend on the direction in which you completed the four gems.
